Marqt sources all fish from Jan van As, a Dutch company legendary for fresh fish, so we can guarantee its origin. A ‘Marqt’ difference, because this means that our fish are wild-caught or sustainably farmed, fished during the proper season and outside the spawning season. This way, you can enjoy responsibly caught fish with peace of mind. The catch of the month gives you the option of going for a special fish that is of the absolute best quality in that time of the year, such as skrei in winter and plaice in summer.

Our sustainable fishing policy
At Marqt, we are committed to selling fish that has been caught or farmed responsibly. We always prefer fish with a recognised label.
As organic supply is often limited, we also choose MSC- or ASC-certified fish. If there is no labelled fish available, we follow the advice of the Good Fish Foundation, whose VISwijzer (fish guide) rates the sustainability level of fish species.
